Dr. Ainsley MacLean is a Harvard-trained board-certified physician and neuroradiologist with over a decade of industry experience in healthcare operations, AI & digital technology, research and leadership.

She is the former Chief AI Officer and Chief Medical Information Officer for Kaiser Permanente’s Washington DC region, where she practiced for 13 years and served on Kaiser Permanente Venture’s Investment Committee and graduated from Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Program. Kaiser Permanente is the nation’s largest integrated healthcare delivery system with $100B in operating revenue and providing care for 12,000,000 patients.

Dr. MacLean helped lead the largest deployment of generative AI ambient scribe technology in healthcare as well as co-facilitated the pilots and deployments of Microsoft Co-Pilot, Imaged based AI (breast, diabetic retinopathy, skin cancer), KP’s Digital Front Door and Telehealth Programs, AI-flagging of abnormal results, Clinical Decision Support AI, served on several national Equipment, Imaging and Technology committees, and contributed to KP’s first national AI strategy. She is the founder of the Permanente AI Center of Excellence.

In her current role she advises healthcare AI start-ups, venture capital and other financial investment firms, as well as health systems on the strategic deployment of AI in the healthcare “Red Zone AI Agent™”. She has written several articles for Forbes, and been featured by Health Tech Magazine, the American Medical Association and NBC News for her cutting-edge innovative work.

Dr. MacLean is also a member of the Class of 2025 Frist Chrissy Ventures (FCV) Collective, which convenes top-level industry executives for thought leadership and shared learning.
