Dr. Esther Rhee is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over a decade of experience in clinical medicine, health operations, quality improvement, health technology, and AI.

She previously practiced primary care at Kaiser Permanente, where she also served as the Physician Expert Lead for Health Technology and AI across the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine departments. She developed innovative EHR pathways to enhance clinical efficiency and accuracy and helped lead large-scale health AI projects impacting over 1,700 physicians, including initiatives in ambient listening, augmented response technology, and skin cancer risk detection. She also served as the site lead for hypertension and diabetes management, where she implemented system-wide hypertension strategies that enhanced care for over 250,000 patients.

In addition, Dr. Rhee was formerly the Associate Director of Cancer Survivorship at the University of Illinois (UI) Cancer Center, where she developed and implemented comprehensive care coordination pathways involving oncology, subspecialists, primary care, and ancillary departments. Dr. Rhee led the UI Health Cancer Supportive Services Council, comprising 25 distinct cancer services, to enhance service utilization and integration. She contributed to the cancer center’s successful Commission on Cancer (CoC) reaccreditation by spearheading the CoC Survivorship Program. Dr. Rhee holds certifications from EPIC and the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.

Her scholarly work includes published research papers in The Cancer Journal and Blood Journal, and articles in the Northern Virginia Magazine. Dr. Rhee offers valuable clinical expertise to enhance patient care and quality while reducing administrative burden and costs through improved operational efficiency, innovative technological and AI-driven solutions.
