Dr. Nadia Smati is a board-certified internal medicine physician whose advisory work focuses on healthcare delivery analysis, policy, and technology implementation to advance effective and equitable clinical care. With dual clinical training in the U.K. and U.S., she brings global perspective and insight to the responsible deployment of AI and digital tools across diverse care models and physician workflows.

She completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University and earned her medical degree from Imperial College London. While practicing inpatient medicine in NHS England, she focused on quality improvement efforts to optimize care delivery and coordination within high-demand hospital workflows and specialty services for complex patient populations.

Dr. Nadia Smati completed her internal medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente, where she led multiple health AI projects. She served as Department Technology Lead, focusing on translating physician needs and workflows into responsible deployment of digital tools and advancing physician AI literacy. Her work included piloting and monitoring the integration of ambient AI technology and developing an AI-enabled imaging stewardship tool for quality improvement. She received national awards from the American College of Physicians for her clinical work and for research using generative AI to improve patient health literacy and equity.

She has presented her work and been invited to speak at national and international conferences on health AI and innovation in healthcare systems. Alongside her clinical and advisory work, she leads and teaches AI education for physicians to foster responsible implementation and evaluation of AI tools in healthcare settings.
