Biography & Experience
William Borges leads life sciences and biopharma advisory work at Ainsley Advisory Group. He also conducts research in nanotechnologies and personalized medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, supported by the NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program.
He received his Sc.B. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with honors and a certificate in entrepreneurship from Brown University. While at Brown, he founded the Brown Medical Entrepreneurship Society to empower medical entrepreneurs and held leadership roles in the Undergraduate Finance Board, Entrepreneurship Program, and Healthcare Investment Group. He went on to earn an M.S. in Personalized Medicine and Applied Engineering from Yale University, where he also worked as a Roberts Innovation Fund Associate at Yale Ventures, consulting with engineering and medical faculty to commercialize their innovations.
An accomplished scientist, William has published in peer-reviewed international journals, including Nanomaterials, Frontiers in Pharmacology, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Sustainable Energy and Fuels, and Separation Science and Technology. He has presented at international conferences and symposia organized by the American Thoracic Society, Materials Research Society, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and the American Chemical Society.
Beyond research, William co-founded and serves as the Executive Director of the NextGen Entrepreneurship Network (NGEN), a nonprofit that connects student entrepreneurs from Ivy+ universities with top investors, business leaders, and each other through in-person events and programming in New York City, Boston, and San Francisco.
